Jesus, was given human life when when he was born to the VIRGIN MARY. He never sinned or disobeyed God's perfect will. However, he was sentenced to die on the CROSS as a common criminal. While on that cross he took on or assumed the sins of the world and died, thereby satisfying the penalty of sin proclaimed by God Himself:

• Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV)
• 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (KJV)
• 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (KJV)
